Bloodhound Supersonic

Dig Deep. Get Skilled. Go Beyond. Dig Deep. Get Skilled. Go Beyond. Dig Deep. Get Skilled. Go Beyond.

The project will begin by exploring prototype car designs, and aerodynamics where students will build, test and race an air powered car.

Students will take then on the role of engineers and fully immerse themselves in a real-world problem-solving challenge. They will design their own prototype wheels using recycled Aluminium and other materials, solving the challenges involved in running a land speed record car across the desert and other potential surfaces. They will explore the innovative engineering used in building Bloodhound and investigate the characteristics of its desert racetrack, the Hakskeen Pan in the Kalahari Desert.
